Privacy

This site is a book and a scientific paper, published free to read. It is deliberately simple, and it collects as little as possible.

If you subscribe

The email address you type into the subscribe form is sent to Kit, the email service that runs P. D. Mangan’s newsletter, and is used to send you that newsletter. Nothing else. It is not sold, rented, or shared. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you permanently. You can also reply to any newsletter and ask to be removed.

Analytics

Visits are counted with Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics service. It sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you. It records only aggregate counts: which pages were viewed, and roughly where in the world visits came from.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. If you play the embedded interview on the paper page, YouTube may set cookies at that point. The video is embedded through youtube-nocookie.com, which does not store anything until you press play.

Downloads

The PDF and EPUB are free and require no email address. Downloading them tells us nothing about you beyond an anonymous page count.
